More popular destinations, especially the nearby Mátra and Bükk, draw tourists away from here, although the Vajdavár region is an exciting hiking area not only for connoisseurs and those who shy away from crowded forest trails. With this volume, we aimed to introduce not only the Vajdavár region but almost the entire Novahrad-Nógrád Geopark to hikers eager for discovery. Since part of it falls within Slovakia, this book is unique in that some of its hikes cross the border, or are entirely on the other side, around Ajnácskő. The book offers a wide range: from easy, few-kilometer forest walks enjoyable by beginner hikers to more demanding hikes for the more experienced, a variety of routes can be found among the 20 hikes in this pocket-sized, richly illustrated publication with photos and drawings.
